Wanna get away...

Tonight I am planning to drive to Denver to have some study time to quiet myself and plan the preaching and teaching schedule through the summer or so. I am really looking forward to getting away.

Every time I go away for some personal study time, God challenges and refreshes me. One of the challenges we are currently facing as a church is the need to get more people involved in the process of planning worship and in the act of leading worship. We need to create a worship planning team and we need to recruit some people to lead us in singing and using other gifts in leading.

But it's hard to plan ahead if I haven't figured out what I am preaching on quite a while before hand. I'd love input on topics for preaching. Here are several I'm considering right now:
  • Spiritual Gifts
  • The Ten Commandments
  • The Life of Moses (Book of Exodus)
  • Heroes of the Faith (Hebrews 11)
  • unChristian (sermons on the book by David Kinnaman)
  • Parenthood (series on parenting and family)
  • 3:16 The Numbers of Hope for Easter series based on Max Lucado's book
  • Q&A - Questions and Answers about the Christian faith
  • Urban Legends - challenging myths about the Christian faith
  • The Politics of Jesus - since it's an election year
That's some initial ideas for preaching and teaching. What would you like to learn about this year?
