The Sticks

For nearly 6 years I have served as the pastor of First Christian Church here in Wray, Colorado. Wray is a small town with a population of about 2000. Wray is in Yuma County with an approximate population of 9800 in the entire county.

For years, I have attended the Leadership Summit and it is a wonderful conference. But I have felt the need to connect with other pastors who are ministering out in the sticks. Now there is a conference geared to rural pastors. It's called the sticks (not to be confused with my blog's name). I hope to be able to attend. Unfortunately the travel costs may make it impossible for me to go.

It is refreshing to see a conference geared to rural areas and the unique challenges that ministering in the rural context presents. Now just pray that I can afford to go (I've spent all of my continuing education budget for the year).
